An Important Service Announcement

Monday, July 6th, 2009

I’m waiting on a replacement power supply to arrive. So I still don’t have access to my big pile of list submissions.  Though I did receive a few ideas I didn’t quite get enough to make a post out of.

And so I am taking this opportunity to draw your attention to an important current event.

Michael Jackson will be buried without his brain.

So far I have several theories.

Random Things That Hurt My Brain

Monday, June 29th, 2009

A major player in the news business has just won a lawsuit with the defense that there is no law against journalists lying or distorting the truth, nor is it a crime to coerce a journalist to do those things.  And yet they are still in the news business. After not only admitting that they have been lying on air, but having publicly defended it as their right.

David Icke exists, and that people pay to listen to him speak.  Even though he has publicly stated that lizard people are secretly controlling the earth.  Hah.  We all know that’s just what the Giant Space Ants want him to think.

On Iran

There was this old episode of The Simpsons where Bart changes his report card from an F to an A.  Lisa looks at his pathetic forgery and goes “Oh Bart…couldn’t you at least fake a plausible grade?”  That pretty much sums this one.

Music I Want To Hear

Tuesday, June 2nd, 2009

Due to increased activity in the home, I haven’t had the time or inclination to sit down and write like I usually do.  And so as I sit here staring at a blank screen, getting a nice buzz on, I have decided to just write down a list of non-existent music that I want to hear.

I kind of have a thing for music that is played in an incorrect genre.  By that  mean a metal song, done in a  polka style, or a a rap song done as country.  I’m not sure how easy it was to find this sort of music before the internet existed, but I have managed to find quite a bit of it in the past few years.  I own an album called Punk Side Story.  I have another album which is Pink Floyd’s “The Wall”, done as bluegrass.

My Movie Star Good Looks

Wednesday, May 13th, 2009

Some of my family members have insisted that I elaborate on item number 18 on this past Monday’s list.

I was in the living room having just watched a commercial for the new cinematic abortion that was X-Men: Origins, when I had a flash of inspiration.

Boo-Hoo!

Thursday, April 23rd, 2009

Break out the teeny tiny violins.

Now that her over paid husband, who did not realize the huge financial mess he was creating, is living on my tax money, she has to hide that she is shopping at high end boutiques, otherwise people might say mean things about her.

I hope her and her husband both get horrific cancer.  I’m talking sci-fi channel movie cancer.  The kind of cancer that achieves sentience, and strikes out on a tri-state killing spree.  The kind of cancer that cannot be reasoned with and will hunt down and kill everything she holds dear.

Burn Hollywood Burn

Thursday, April 16th, 2009

So the Wolverine movie that’s set to come out next month got leaked somehow.

The studio is very upset, and feels that this may wind up costing them at the box office.

I, of course, have a theory.

Game Developers Conference

Wednesday, April 1st, 2009

So last week I got to attend the Game Developers Conference in San Francisco, and thanks again to Michiel for covering for me while I was off doing that.

While I was there I jotted down some notes for things that I thought my readers might be interested in.

1) I used to go to school in San Francisco shortly after I got out of the Army.  And I used to walk everywhere I went.  I figured it would be a piece of cake to do the same thing this time around.

Unfortunately my hotel was in the North end of the city, and the Conference was somewhere in Southern Baja, Mexico.

Also, it turns out that the past five years of grueling video game design did not keep me in as good shape as I might have hoped.

Random Thoughts

Wednesday, March 18th, 2009

A bunch of ideas that didn’t pan out into full posts.

1) Some people believe that once enough emotional energy is invested into something, that thing starts to become real.  The thing could be an idea, or a place, or even a person.  The idea is that if enough people spend enough time thinking about something, or believing in it, it takes on a sort of life on it’s own.

Some folks even think that this is where gods come from.  That they are the manifestation of the emotional outpouring of their followers.  There was a movie called Destiny Turns on the Radio which explored this idea with the avatar of Las Vegas traveling around dispensing and taking away luck on a whim.  They called him an Animus.

I think Sam Elliot is one of those, but for cowboy movies.

The Cool Things Always Happen After I Move

Thursday, February 12th, 2009

So according to the news a few weeks ago there was a zombie outbreak in Texas.

Which was followed a little while later by a velociraptor attack in Illinois.

I will now explain how this is the worst possible combination of things that could happen.
