A Post from Skippy’s Wife
Hi! *waves*
My husband is out with the kids right now. So I’m setting up an official Skippy’s List Facebook page because I’m tired of waiting for him to do it.
He has all these little thoughts and events that happen through the day, that really aren’t blog-worthy, but Facebook and Twitter are perfect forums for them.
BTW, did you know he HAS a Twitter account? Yes, @skippyslist. Be kind, he’s still getting the hang of it.
Noob.

Might I suggest Google+ instead of Facebook? If he needs an invitation, he need but ask.

Google+…Facebook. Why choose one of the other. Some of us use both.

I don’t care to consort with those of the socialized media type.

We’re holding off on that for now.
Google to Businesses: Don’t Create Google+ Profiles Yet

And since the fan pages on Facebook work the same as business pages, we’re waiting to see what develops with Google+ until we go there.
And personally, while I do use G+, I find the lack of ability to easily cross-post from Twitter to G+ to be frustrating. :-P

W00T!! Just “liked” the page! Hi, Mrs. Skippy! I have a twitter account, but rarely post anything. Not that much goes on in my life and facebook and gaming sorta absorb a lot of attention….

TBH, it’s gaming that takes up the time….*sighs*

Skippy! I still get hits on my blog from his article calling me a “crazy bitch” because I don’t like porn being sold in PXs and shopettes in the military. You must be so proud. I know I would be.

I’ll send you one. Email the address you want me to send it to, and I’ll do it.

To be fair, I didn’t call you a crazy bitch because you don’t like porn being sold. I called you a crazy bitch because you had insane justification for those views, supported the curtailment of military privileges to back your own religious views, and repeatedly portrayed yourself as being in the military because you are married to a soldier. Again, you don’t get military rank, experience, & status by sleeping with a soldier. You seem to have confused those things with herpes.
But it’s nice to see you again, and I’m glad you didn’t let our past fight stop you from coming here and trying to get some more traffic out of me.

Hi Amy. I am proud of him.
I’m proud of anyone who speaks out on “moral” laws regarding gambling, prostitution, pornography, alcohol, or drugs. Those involve someone else’s morals, not mine. What happens between consenting adults is none of my business. What adults do to their own bodies is not mine either.
I take issue with those insisting on removing pornography from military bases. I think it was a ridiculous move and we have more important things to do than to tell soldiers how to live their lives under the guise of “but think of the children”.

What’s truly stunning is that three years and presumably hundreds of pieces of hate mail later, it still hasn’t occurred to you that maybe it’s your views that are out of touch.

I need to install like buttons for comments. :-)

Sadly, there’s the old saying “any publicity is good publicity.” This is especially true on the internet, where people who write internet articles more or less get paid based on the number of hits the article gets, therefore articles that piss people off and generate hate mail are generally more financially successful articles then those that don’t.
Not sure where I’m going with this. I’ll leave a last comment that the military, of all places, shouldn’t have to be child-friendly or child-proof itself; if you think things are going on that are unsuitable for children (at least, in places like the military), it’s a sign that children just shouldn’t be there.

And really, do you know what will happen if they remove porn from the PX? We’ll just buy it at Wal Mart or Barnes and Noble or this newfangled thing the younger kids are telling me about called THE INTERTUBES.
