Naughty List

December 7th, 2010 by skippy

I did something bad today.

I found out about some reverend in Texas who put up a website so that his church can try to publicly shame businesses that don’t have Christian specific holiday decorations and themes. Because as we all know, failure to allow one group to totally dominate all form of discourse is basically just oppression.

They have this whole “Naughty” vs “Nice” them going on.

Grinch Alert.

I submitted my parents Synagogue, in the naughty category, for not having Christmas decorations, but still putting up decorations for the religions of other faiths.

Curious to see what happens.

I think I will do the same for your business. I see no Christmas decorations at all. (Just kidding)

I also couldn’t find anything about the synagogue on the website. Then again, pages 2,3, and 4 of “Naughty” didn’t load for me.

If you click on “All” you do get to see all four pages. There was no mention of a synagogue on all four pages.

If you see a pot, you just have to stir it, don’t you?

    What else are pots for?

Captcha: “501 norputs”… okay, I guess you could stick them in a pot big enough.

Interesting site. Obviously censored seeing as it says “submit for approval”… guess I can’t blame them, I was thinking of submitting the entire town of Hell, Michigan on the nice list because the town’s named is Hell…

Anybody else notice about 90% of the posts on it are from Texas?

Gee, would the army qualify? Certainly don’t see too much in the way of Christmas specific decorations around here.

Okay, now that is… interesting, as a phenomenon.

Oh well. I wonder if anyone’s having a campaign against Christians taking part in conspicuously pagan-derived Christmas customs and decorations this year…?

(You know, those do include many aspects of the popular “Santa” tradition, elves especially; the Christmas tree; and a huge number of the food-related traditions… among other things.)

If there’s any such to be found, cross-linking those lists should provide some further amusement.

Anyone here ever watch the Nostalgia Critic? I think perhaps someone should put him on the “Nice” list for including “Santa Christ” at the end of his review of the Star Wars Holiday Special.
