Important Message For Folks in North Carolina

Hey Skippy,

You may know someone who may know someone who could help (Dave in NC comes to mind as someone who might be closer than me).

According to WRAL-TV’s website, there was a fire at Fort Bragg which destroyed a warehouse containing uniforms and instruments for the 82nd ABN band. The head line reads: “Airborne band needs instruments for Independence Day”. An excerpt: “The band lost everything, a spokesman said, and is asking members of the public to e-mail Warrant Officer Russ Houser, the bandmaster, at russ.houser@us.army.mil if they have instruments to donate.

“The band is scheduled to play the 1812 Overture as an introduction to the post’s fireworks display Sunday night. The performance caps a day of activities which kicks off at 3 p.m.”
