Silly But Might Help

This article is an attempt to be at least potentially helpful to someone looking for a job and perhaps to tie or break the Miller link density record. (See http://www.appleturns.com which is often broken, but sometimes still works.) Note: Miller, not Millet.

Well, you could try doing something cute with your resume, like a character sheet.

Even if you last worked when computer was a job title, there’s something out there for you. Don’t give up.

Remember, if you build a better mousetrap, the world will beat a path to your door.

Well, there’s always bounty hunting a la Stephanie Plum.  Bin Laden is worth $25 million, if he’s alive. (Hey, it took five years to find the Atlanta Olympic bomber, Eric what’s his face.)

Speaking of copyright (scroll to the very end of the last link), did you here about the copyright bomb that’s about to go off? That could put some people in a jam.

Oh, volunteering will keep you from going stir crazy and could punch up your resume. (Suggestions: Soldier’s Angels, Project Valour-IT, USO).

Oh, these people might need your expertise. (Remember, they need you as much–preferably more than–you need them.) I got the previous link from a discussion on challenge coins at Blackfive. (Skippy, I may need a trackback to Blackfive since they ask for it.)

I hope this article has been helpful or at least amusing. It has covered careers in law enforcement, bail enforcement, volunteerism, computers. Initiative has been emphasized. The need for persistence in job hunting has been mentioned. Having an eye-catching resume was also mentioned.
