Oh Hell No!

November 19th, 2009 by skippy

A paralyzed Marine was denied TSGLI benefits because his injury was the result of a vaccine the military gave him rather than combat. Following a policy that was created after he filed his claim.

Article here.

If this sort of thing bothers you, anesthetist you should probably contact your local congress critter and let them know what you think of this.

    captcha- 500,000 cuckold

SGLI’s half a mil, right, at least it was when I was in, and cuckolded is exactly what this poor marine is getting. It’s so blatant even captcha gets it.

This sort of thing is a very big part of why I didn’t reup when 9/11 happened. And it’s nothing new, a similar story, different details, happened to my father in the 70s. When this nation makes the institutional decision to refuse care to those it puts in harms way, it’s time to turn away from that institution.
Too bad the Founders didn’t write up something specific about taking care of our troops, I guess it was so obvious they never even dreamed of having to address it. So now we can just use ’em up and throw ’em away, right? Doesn’t matter, there’s always a fresh new crop of impressionable young teenagers willing to die or spend the rest of their lives as a cripple if they can just earn that one inch square piece of green and black embroidered fabric, or a twenty dollar beret that’s a “special” color.

F’n beancounters and insurance trolls. How about we shoot them up with all these vaccines and see how they like it?

    Huh,

Kemperifsh — oughta study the way the original Continental Congress and early federal period government treated wounded vets.

Not so great either. Oh, eventually, they started making up for it. But, imagine this — you get combat wounded, so your pay is stopped. A couple of weeks after having an amputation without anesthetics, you’re sent home. . . unemployed. Come back and file a pension request later, when we have money. . .

“The VA Department of Insurance Chairman, Stephen Wurtz, says Joe was denied because his injury didn’t come from a traumatic combat event, but from a needle. He also said the government can’t afford to cover injuries from vaccines.

“Any additional claims under TSGLI are paid by the government, and the government would now be paying that many more claims during a period of conflict,” Wurtz commented.

Lopez said what upset him even more is the fact that they amended the TSGLI bill after he applied to specifically disqualify vaccine injuries form compensation.”

Aw gee, if we have to pay damages for the troops we fuck up, we won’t be able to afford pretty Raptor drones and smart bombs.

If you can’t afford the bill, don’t pick the fight.

Thanks, Skippy, for bringing attention to this atrocity.

that is pretty low, i will never understand why governments thinks that screwing over their soldiers is a great idea. Because that path tends to lead to Coups and politicians being shot.

Anyone know if he at least got medically retired for a duty related disability? Seems like he should be up for 100% base pay (regardless of any money he earns in a civilian job).

Not much, but it would be a start. Especially since he SHOULD qualify for his disability pay to be nontaxable. (Yes, only pre-1975 members, OR people with “combat related” diasability get tax-free status, BUT. . . “Combat-related disability means personal injury or sickness incurred as a direct result of armed conflict, or while engaged in extra hazardous service, or under conditions simulating war or an instrumentality of war. ” 26 U.S. Code, Section 104)
