I mean, it indicates that the author's self image diverges significantly from reality, but not in a self-aggrandizing way (i.e. Tycho and Gabe both look a lot better than the Penny Arcade creators really do). :) Yeah, it’s always interesting when you have a semi-autobiographical comic like Devil’s Panties and the author character not only doesn’t look like the author, they’re non-idealized.
