Not sure what they did with it - Army Relief handles the actual charity stuff (and would have in the early '90s). Probably a bigger Christmas party. And from a bachelor's standpoint, it is annoying to have your world on base run by the wives of officers, especially when they make you attend their social functions (they never bring their single friends).
